Smart Buy For Gamers!,
Don’t make the mistake I’ve been making for years and fall pray to the only-i7 for gaming hype. Unless you’re intending to make multiple VMs on your machine, there is ZERO benefit to buying an i7. I have my processer running in tandem with a 980 GTX and there hasn’t been a game yet that I haven’t been able to play with everything maxed out at +60fps.

|Excellent for gaming and stays pretty cool!,
Im using the i5 4690k on an AsRock z97 m itx/ac motherboard and using a silverstone argon heatsink with push/pull to cool it. I overclocked it to 4.4 ghz on 1.2 V hitting in the 70’s C on Intel Burn Test. I could overclock it further but I am comfortable with it and the heat its putting out because its my first overclock.
In games like bf4 im able to play at around 60-90 fps and sometimes dips to the 50’s fps on ultra with a gtx 660. DayZ is also signifigantly better because it plays much smoother. This processor gets in the 40’s and 50’s degrees C while gaming so it stays pretty cool even overclocked.
So overall, the i5 4690k is an awesome cpu for gaming and great for multitasking and its stays pretty cool while gaming.
