New York, NY (PRWEB) April 20, 2015

IT Central Station, the leading product review site for enterprise technology, announced the top IT infrastructure monitoring vendors based on data from over 60,000 real user visits and opinions. The IT Central Station research (available as an infographic here: http://www.itcentralstation.com/articles/top-it-infrastructure-management-tools-2015-edition) includes detailed analysis based on the behavior of real users researching and comparing solutions on IT Central Station from January 2014 through Q1 2015.

With this data, IT Central Station compiles a weighted ranking system based on the number of total page views, times each product was compared by users, total number of reviews, followers on their site, and the average rating out of 10 scored by users. This system has been used to rank more than 50 product categories to date.

Based on IT Central Station’s in-depth analysis, Nagios was found to be the number one ranked IT Infrastructure Monitoring vendor of Jan 2014 – Q1 2015. Organically, Nagios was the most compared product with over 11,500 comparisons by real users. However, it is interesting to note that while Nagios ranked the highest overall, Zabbix almost doubled its views, with its page viewed over 21,500 times on the site. Large companies CA Technologies and HP are also represented in the top 10, with CA Unified Infrastructure Management, CA Spectrum, and HP Openview rounding out 3 spots of the top 10.

The following are excerpts of reviews of IT infrastructure monitoring software by IT Central Station members:

“The scalability of CA Unified Infrastructure Management and heterogeneous OS coverage is really what sets this product apart from others. Other features like synthetic (e2e) transaction monitoring, OOTB application support as well as the UMP (Unified Monitoring Portal) are the icing on the cake.” – Principal System Administrator at a tech company with 500-5000 employees

“Being able to email people [using ScienceLogic] when an alert happens and notify them right away is a big help to us and our customers. We’ve looked into things like having them log in to have their own dashboards. Certain executives like to see things that are going on or certain IT professionals for our customers.” – Technical Implementation Manager at a communications service provider with 1-500 employees

“[HP Openview] consumes too many servers for installation, but Network Node Manager is good and so is Operations Manager, although they are both a bit archaic now.” – Consultant at a tech services company with 5000+ employees

“We are thrilled to be able to share the outcome of our community coming together and making the IT monitoring software buying process easier,” said Russell Rothstein, Co-Founder and CEO of IT Central Station. “The high number of views and engagement with our reviews demonstrates the value that our platform offers to IT professionals.”
