5/5 for a quality LG product at a reasonable price point,
I will update this review as I have more time with the TV. A few Pros/Cons I’ve noticed so far:
Pros
– Great picture once you customize the settings a bit
– Easy step by step setup at initial power on
– Network integration is great if you’re hosting video/audio files on the home network
– 3 HDMI ports is rare at this price point
Cons
– the IR receiver is average at best
– The remote it comes with does not have any “Smart Remote” capabilities
– Does not have a swivel stand

Hit and Miss…A Mixed Bag.,
The picture quality is amazing, as we were coming from a 480p/60Hz system. Watching Sons of Anarchy was eye opening. It transformed the viewing experience from a regular action show into what almost looked like what I call the “Soap Opera” viewing experience. You know, where it looks like it was all filmed live with a high end hand held video camera. It was a little disconcerting at first, but we’re growing to like it. I also watched the opening scene via Blu Ray of Saving Private Ryan. Good gravy. It changed the film for me, and I have seen it a dozen times easily. Colors and action are VERY sharp. Impressive.
The bad: The IR receiver is less than optimal. Okay, in all actuality it is garbage. My 8 year old Toshoba 42″ had a more reliable and powerful IR receiver. Getting the correct angle on this thing requires holding it exactly parallel to the ground at the height of the bottom of the TV at a minimum. It is apparently very sensitive as to the angle. Typing in my logins to Amazon and Hulu were a pain as a result, as I ended up holding it at head height to move around and select characters. Had they found a way to put the receiver on the top of the TV and widened it’s reception angle, this would be a big plus. Also why do the control buttons on the remote not have a backlight installed? Frustrating.
Also less than optimal is the installed Amazon prime video. I was hoping to eliminate my use of my Amazon Fire stick on this system due to the Amazon Prime Video being available on this set. I really wanted the firestick on my bedroom system, but this was not to be. The set is less than 2 feet away from my Securfi repeater but it still lags and is always insanely slow to spool up the next episode. The TV does NOT pre-cache video like the fire stick does. The xbox, wii+, and firestick have no issues streaming video at max speed, but this TV sure does. The hiccups and slowness were bad enough to make me dismount it from the wall and use up one of the 3 available HDMI ports for my fire stick instead of the pre-loaded applications. It’s not a network issue, but a TV issue.
Pros: Amazingly clear video..disturbingly clear and sharp color and motion.
Cons: Terrible remote system, so so “smart apps”.
I wish that I had gone a different route.
