Great extender with ridiculously easy setup, best value out there,
The extender was up and running in less than 5 minutes, WPS setup with their TrendNet router could not have been easier. Wifi signal downstairs immediately doubled, or better. Devices that were registering Poor signal with 1-5MBps connections now show excellent and 65MBps+.
I highly recommend this device for anyone who has dead spots, routers upstairs or in the basement or anyone who just needs to extend their G/N wireless signal.

Replacing my Linksys RE1000 for less money, half the space — and triple the performance!,
But then I decided to give this a shot.
First — setup was a breeze. Plugged it into the power strip next to my computer (as opposed to having to have a wired connection to the router) and used the Genie software.
Step 1: connect my computer to the Netgear extender
Step 2: find my router SSID
Step 3: enter in my password
Step 4: go plug it in somewhere it can see the “mothership router” and still provide a good connection to the nether regions of your house.
I had left both range extenders active (different SSIDs) active for a period of time and one thing I found was that my son’s computer was never actually seeing the old Linksys range extended so I’m guessing it just decided to quit working.
I connected his laptop to the Netgear range extended and had him try something that wasn’t working before and he said “wow — I couldn’t get past the 2-second mark before before it would just buffer forever!”.
The thing that is amazing to me is the size of this is very small — about the size of the brick portion of a macbook pro and about 1/2 the size of the Linksys.
The little external antenna can be angled for optimal reception and repeating of the WiFi signal.
I’m very impressed with this little gadget — particularly for the price. For what it is worth — my home is about 2300 square feet — 2 stories. The router is located on the 1st floor at one end of the house, My son’s computer is located on the 2nd floor at the opposite end of the house. I have the Range extender plugged in almost smack dab in the middle — on the 2nd floor halfway between the 2 ends of the house.
