   This is the best value in TV’s right now. Hands down. Very nice picture, deep and rich colors, plenty of inputs, very sleek design. The speakers are super weak, but that is true of all flat screens, plan on plugging this into a sound system and you are good to go.

   This Seiki 50″ TV is manufactured is China. Its corporate headquarters are in California, but the company, Seiki Digital, is wholly owned by China-based Tsinghua Tongfang. This company is known for making low budget HD and Ultra HD LCD televisions.

   As a low budget TV, it is not a Smart TV. It’s not intuitive, nor interactive. It’s not compatible with 3-D technology. It’s a basic TV. And if you can live with that, you’ve got a very decent television.

   PROS:
   Sometimes resolution suffers as picture size increases.The 50″ model still manages to provide good clarity.
   Tech support is available for a month after purchase.
   One year of warranty is provided.
   Despite its size, it’s just 26.5 lbs.
   It is easy to install
   It has the standard ports needed to hook-up speakers and cable.
   There is a useful sleep timer that can be set from five to 240 minutes.

   CONS:
   The manual is printed in very small font and is not easy to read.
   The manual does not state the size of screws needed for wall mounting the TV.*
   The remote is small with very tiny font for the buttons.**

   Like all new electronics, only time will tell if this is really a good buy. As a no-frills, low-cost TV, this is definitely a bargain. I will provide updates if this Seiki does not live up to expectations.

   A sound bar is desired for better clarity, but not essential for listening.

   * Even after calling Seiki’s tech support we were not given the correct screw size and had to guess as to what to buy.
   ** Once you have used the remote for a while, you will know where to find the buttons, but will still have to search for the ones you seldom use.

   Ok I’ll try again since Amazon blocked my last review for stating a fact. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. It’s NOT 120Hz refresh rate as stated in the title. I just got off the phone with Seiki customer support. They verified this model TV, Seiki SE50FY 50-inch 1080p LED TV, is indeed only 60Hz refresh rate. Buyer beware! Read descriptions, read reviews, and go to the actual manufacturer’s website to verify and double check product descriptions. Amazon burned me on this one. I should have been more careful. I’ll know better next time.
