Wow, I am impressed!!! 5 stars all around! A+++++,
1. Before I’ve made our investment, I called Tivo 3 times and they were able to provide suggestions and answered our concerns.
2. Main reason I got Tivo Romio Plus (6 channel) mainly due to my usages (my folks can be recording 2-3 shows and kids can be recording/watching same time). Again, I have 4 TV’s. I originally got Roamio but end up returning it and got Roamio Plus.
3. Setup was soooo easy (all done by network cable). Took less than 10 mins.
4. Not sure if this applies to others. One of our TV is mounted on the wall but all wires are hidden and DVR box was behind the wall. Had IR cable (See photo) running but Mini version has RF frequency which means it can go through the walls!!!! How cool is that!!!! (very important to me).
5. Small lag between channel but not noticeable. It’s lots of money for Roamio Plus+ 3 boxes = $850 but I personally thought it was well investment for us.
For those that are like myself who is looking for save $$ for long term and getting ride of Comcast boxes, I honestly never thought Tivo was going to work for us (I honestly thought Tivo was DEAD but WOW!!!) but I am REALLY impressed and even my wife loves it. My only dilemma is whether to fork out another $500 for lifetime service. It’s working for us so I would hope it works out for others!

… new TiVo Mini is up and running and a great add-on for anyone already running a TiVo Premier +,
What I didn’t know or understand is that the Mini requires a MOCA which turns the coax from a one-way to a two-way wire. Given our set up and separation between the TiVo Premier and the Mini within the house, setting up the MOCA involved adding a MOCA Adapter between the coax and modem and connecting it to the modem by coax and to the router by Ethernet. This required adding a POE Filter to the coax cable at the point of origin (between the cable coming into the house and the splitter).
With one visit by our cable company’s technician to get the new TV working in the separate room, followed over a week’s time by three extended TiVo service tech calls. The first one got the Mini programmed or recognized. The second one was after the Mini wouldn’t work and the need for a MOCA and what it is was explained and that I needed to buy a MOCA Adapter and POE Filter. The last TiVo Tech call was needed when the Mini still failed and it was explained that I needed to program the TiVo Premier to run on the newly created MOCA. And, of course, the TiVo Tech calls were separated by the time needed to obtain both the MOCA Adapter and POE Filter.
TiVo should provide much more detailed set-up instructions and equipment requirements in the materials. The TiVo Tech telephone support was very good even if a bit incomplete in the first two calls.
