ZOOM+, the innovator of on-demand healthcare and Performance Health Insurance, announced today its plans to provide radical access to healthcare with enhancements to its On-Demand ZOOM+Care Video service. ZOOM+ Performance Health Insurance Members will now get free unlimited worldwide access for their routine healthcare needs; people who want to self-pay will have have great new price of $ 35 per visit; and, starting January 1st, 2016, for people with other insurances the ZOOM+Care Video visit will be treated like a regular office visit.

ZOOM+ has been instrumental in advocating for the use of video as a safe and effective way to care for a wide range of urgent care needs. In a recent first-of-its-kind research study by ZOOM+ and OHSU published February 19, 2015 in the Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, the review of 478 patient video office visits concluded that video office visits are safe and have the potential to greatly expand convenient access to care.

ZOOM+ also played a leading role in promoting the passage of Oregon State law SB 144. The bill, signed into law by Governor Kate Brown, requires health insurance companies to pay for all video medical and mental health visits, wherever the patient is located. Previously, video consultations were only insured, by law, when the patient was in a clinic or hospital video conference facility.

“Video is just one more way we’re improving access to care and reducing cost. ZOOM+Members will now have unlimited worldwide access to their daily healthcare needs. All for free. For non-members, we’ve reduced our price to $ 35 per visit to make care more accessible to all. And, the passage of SB 144 means that more people will have access to ZOOM+Care because their visit will be covered by insurance,” says Dave Sanders, M.D., co-founder and CEO. “It’s all about keeping people healthier by providing better access to care with technologies that can reduce cost too.”
